Love

The boys and I have been obsessed with Annie lately. It started when my Mom took me and the boys the the play last month in Roxboro. I forgot how great the music was. It had been years since I'd seen it, and as an adult and a mother it was a completely different experience watching it again. I was crying from the first song to the last.

I have such a love for my boys and that love has grown and created a soft, very emotional, spot in my heart for all children. It breaks my heart to know that there are children out there without loving parents. I wish I had a giant mansion so that I could adopt or foster abandoned, neglected, and abused children. I would love them with all my heart. This love also comes from a lot of prayer and repentance for my own weaknesses. Slowly I have learned that no matter how terrible we might think some ones actions are, they are still children of our Heavenly Father and we should love everyone with the pure love of Christ.

I love my boys so much. And to see them smile makes my heart overflow with joy. My love for them is so strong and intense that I am greatly impacted by how others treat them. I've told my parents before that I have immense gratitude for those who show love to my boys. There have also been times when I felt like my children were not shown love or kindness, and it breaks my heart. But to know that there are people out there that have and show love for them gives me enough peace to forgive. It might take me a long time to forget, but I can forgive.

How could any one not love these boys? How could anyone show them anything but kindness?

Silly boys

Harry loves to hide in the closet!

Silly boy.

Calvin loves building with his legos. We have to take pictures of them before Harry tears them apart of Calvin drops it and it shatters across the floor...

I miss those curls...

There are sticks all over the house, inside and outside... he is obsessed!

Handsome boy, trying on his clothes for family pictures next week!

No more naps for Harry in the afternoon, means a very tired boy at 8 pm! It gets really hard between 5-6 to keep this boy awake, but he falls right asleep every night!

Camp Woodlands

I was lucky enough to be a chaperon on Calvin's first field trip. We learned all about trees, bugs, and the environment.

Scooping up mulch to keep the rain from washing dirty water into the lake.

One of Calvin/s favorite parts was when they got to catch fish.

They actually caught a tiny jelly fish and Calvin was so excited to touch it!

 Holding a fish!

Putting the fish in the water.

He was a little nervous about the boat, but he was fine once he got in.

I loved seeing him interact with his classmates.

Calvin is an official Junior arborist!

Calvin's favorite part was definitely riding on a bus. That smile makes my heart so happy!

It was a great day and I hope that I can go on more trips with him.

Exploring

Instead of being lazy inside all day, which is our favorite thing to do, I decided that we needed to get outside. It was a really nice day, not too humid or hot. Calvin decided to go exploring for bugs.

The first thing he found was a mantis! I couldn' believe it! What a cool insect to find!

Some sort of beelte.

In that middle water spot is a little white worm.

Then we found a bee!

Then we came home and made a book.

Calvin cute and pasted and drew pictures of what he found!

After running some errands we came home and found a baby turtle!

The boys were excited, but not too sure about touching him.
