Oh Rachel...

This is another blog for Rachel! Haha! Well, kind of! She told me to take a hint, so I guess I'm taking it!

My best friend Rachel has been feeling crafty lately (to steal her own words) and she actually is a lot more crafty than she gives herself credit for...see for yourself!

How cute! She made Calvin a hat, a scarf, and some little mittens! They are so tiny and cute and Rachel made them without a pattern...how cool is that?!?!

She's a little afraid that he will be too big when it is cold enough to wear them, but I think that she has forgotten that we live in Rexburg and it can snow at ANY time!

Thank you Rachel! I still plan on trying them on Calvin, even if it is not snowing! I'll post more pictures then!

Happy Birthday Rachel!

Today is my best friend, Rachel's Birthday and I just wanted her to know that I love her and I miss her and I hope that she has a GREAT day!

I couldn't have asked for a better roommate my freshman year at college!
It was love at first sight, or maybe because we both loved pasta and Rooney...but not running!
In order to escape from Rachel's CRAZY roommate, we made a "boat" in the living room with the two couches and had a sleep over every night!
We spent countless hours sitting in the boat watching music videos, talking to boyfriends, and just wasting time!

Rachel even made me happy when I had to clean the bathroom for white glove! We were totally wearing our other roommates clothes and when she came home early, we totally got busted (actually Rachel did, I ran to the room and never got caught)!

We just couldn't hide our affection! We could make each other happy even when we couldn't score higher than 50 in bowling!

Rachel is just the best friend that anyone could ever ask for!

Happy Birthday Rachel! I LOVE YOU!

Fun Updates!

This weekend we were so lucky to have Nick's family come visit for Laura and Chris' graduation. It was such a nice weekend. Nick loved spending time with Dad and John and I had fun hanging out with all the girls just talking, laughing, and eating A LOT of popcorn!

Well I guess its about time to start using the terms Grammy and Papa...so Grammy and Papa brought us some little treats for Calvin’s room, the finishing touches so to speak.

As you all know we are naming our baby Calvin. We chose the name because Nick has always been a big fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Cal Ripken Jr. So not only does Calvin get a Redskins room but it's a combination of both Redskins and Orioles!

Grammy brought all kinds of collectible baseballs and a plaque for the wall.

I was so excited! Nick and I have some corner shelves that we have been wanting to put up and now we finally had some things to put on them! We went to the store and bought some brackets and screws, but when Nick tried to put them up he realized that there are no studs in the corner and the screws would not stay in the drywall! We not giving up yet, Nick is a construction man so he some more ideas of what to do.

This is more of a treat for me than Calvin, but when I saw these overalls I knew that he just had to have them! Rachel will enjoy the initials! Haha!

One CRAZY semester!

I was terrified this semester to take on 18 credits, but now that it is over I realize that it wasn't that bad. Somehow I always managed to have time to complete all of my assignments for each class and truly by some miracle I was able to make an A in my research methods class!

I also managed to learn something from my Old Testament class this semester too...and that is the fact that everything we have and receive is because of the Lord. I KNOW that I would not have been able to do so well in any of my classes if it weren't for the Lord. I am so lucky to have a husband who was able to give me a blessing at the beginning of the semester that I would be able to do well and finish. I also know that I would not have done so well if I had not said a prayer those nights that I needed extra help to complete an assignment. So I am very thankful for my good grades this semester, because I know that I did not earn them on my own.

Just for fun!

So, I was bored tonight and decided to sort all of our pictures and I found some funny ones that I thought that I'd share!

This happened after about a month of moving to the apartment...Nick accidentally used handwashing dish soap instead of the dishwasher soap! There were bubbles everywhere!

Another funny thing that Nick did was leave me a reminder note of what he would like for dinner, I think that Anna will appreciate this one...Notice the way he spelled "lasonia"! I got a good laugh out of it!

Surprise Shower!

So yesterday, after a LONG day at school I get to my front door and Ashley tells me that I got a package! When I opened it I found out that it was a Baby Shower in a Box from everyone in Maryland and Pennsylvania!

I was so excited! But, after I opened a couple I realized that I should wait for Nick--I always get so excited about presents that I don't think before I open them! Unfortunately Nick didn't home until midnight last night, so I had to wait ALL day for him to come home!

It was very late so we decided just to open the rest and take pictures in the morning!

I love this little outfit with the Doggy on the bottom!

Grandma Simmons sent us everything REDSKINS!

Mrs. Jones sent this cute alligator outfit and the sailboat overalls with matching shoes!

A cute new outfit and overalls and tons of socks from Grandma Albright!

Red towel and burp cloths from Mom and a container set from Emily!

Aunt Linda and Uncle Ed sent us this cute blue sweater and jacket, and I love the outfit!

Aunt Debbie gave us a duck blanket and little duckies to go with it!

I love these onsies and this outfit from Aunt Debby!

I love these little overalls and shoes from Mom (it came with a blue shirt, but I guess it missed it's turn in front of the camera!)

Adam and Kelly gave us this soft fleece outfit with a matching bib!

I was so excited to get the perfect Sunday outfit from Mom!

A BIG Thank You to everyone who sent Calvin new things! We were so excited to know that you all were thinking of us!

MORE Birthday!

I got my present from Mom Albright a couple of weeks ago and now that Nick's computer is back I can finally post the pictures! I was so excited that I didn't think to take pictures of the pretty wrapping until I had ripped a couple open! Oops!

I also got a cute outfit for Calvin and ingredients to make her delicious chocolate cake! Thanks Mom!
